Do you want to make media professionals work with a smile?
We make media professionals work with a smile
Codemill transforms the Media and Entertainment industry by creating efficient and enjoyable solutions for the Media supply chain. By providing user-friendly, web based and cloud friendly products for different media workflows, we’ve earned trust from many prestigious brands from different parts of the industry and world.
About Codemill
We are a product development company, with about 40 colleagues, and we are constantly evolving the way we work and how we create success together. Although the company has evolved over the years, there is still a sense of entrepreneurship within the organization and we all contribute in bringing value for our customers every day. Our philosophy is simple: Combine expertise and enthusiasm for broadcast and video with the technical skills to help our customers excel. We believe we have perfected the art over time.
We value our sense of community and collaboration and we think that it’s very important to make our co-workers feel comfortable at work. Learning is part of everyday work at Codemill which we do by aside time for personal development in projects as well as in company through initiatives like “Exploraton”. Above all, we cherish the warm and supportive culture we’ve built together. To further improve our great atmosphere and work environment, we have “fika” together twice a day, have breakfast together once a week, and on Fridays the sweet smell of freshly made popcorn trickles through the office as our popcorn machine works hard to provide us with popcorn for the day. We, of course, also have benefits to promote good health and teamwork.
Working as a Developer
At Codemill, we work in agile teams with focus on usability and sustainable, well-coded solutions. Here are some of the technologies we use—and we hope you’re comfortable with at least a few of them:
- Python/Django
- AWS ECS/EKS
- TypeScript
- Angular
- React
- Linux
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- GitLab
- PostgreSQL
In your day-to-day work, your main focus will be coding on our products, but you’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in testing, user experience, system integration, continuous integration, and more. You’ll work closely with your teammates, product leadership and sometimes our customers, so it’s important that you’re versatile in your role as a developer.
Qualifications
We are looking for a developer who is genuinely excited about product development and considers it one of the most fun parts of the job! This position is for one of our two product teams.
This role is a great fit for someone who has moved beyond the junior level and is currently or about to step into a mid-level position. You’re comfortable being communicative and taking ownership when needed, have a proactive mindset, and make sure things get done on time. When the situation calls for it, you’re happy to step up and take the lead. You have a strong interest in the product perspective and may even have ambitions to work as a Product Owner or in a more product-oriented role in the future.
A background in computer science, interaction design or engineering is a big plus, but what matters most to us is who you are as a person. Most importantly, you’re excited about the video and media industry and want to build great things together with us.
As a developer at Codemill, you’ll have the opportunity to influence both technical solutions and ways of working, playing a key role in moving the product forward – from idea to delivery.
Since we work internationally, fluent English is essential, as well as being comfortable with flexible working hours from time to time when we collaborate across time zones.
About the Position
